Every day
- Use cuticle oil once or twice a day. Rub it into the skin around each nail. It keeps the product flexible and your cuticles soft.
- Wear gloves for cleaning and washing up. Hot water and cleaning sprays are the biggest cause of lifting.
- Treat your nails as jewels, not tools. Use a coin or your finger pads to open cans, peel labels or scratch things off.
- Moisturise your hands. Hand cream after washing keeps skin and nails in good condition.
The first day
- Go easy on very hot water. Skip long hot baths, saunas and hot tubs for the first 24 hours while everything settles.
- Avoid fake tan on your nails. Wipe any tan or strong dyes off quickly so the colour does not stain.
Please don't
- Pick, peel or bite. Peeling BIAB or gel off takes layers of your natural nail with it. This is the number one cause of thin, weak nails.
- File the surface at home. If an edge catches, a gentle file along the tip is fine, but leave the top to me.
- Glue a lifted nail down. Water and bacteria can get trapped underneath. Message me instead.
When to come back
Book your BIAB Infill every three to four weeks. Leaving it longer makes the nail top-heavy, which puts pressure on your natural nail and can lead to lifting or breaks.
If you ever want your BIAB or gel taken off, please let me remove it properly. Never peel it off.
